About the cabin

The cabin, built in 2024, features a stylish design with two bedrooms and a loft. The bedrooms are equipped with double beds, while the loft has two single beds. The panoramic windows offer a beautiful view westward towards the Atlantic Ocean. The cabin is located in a newly developed cabin area, which is still partially under construction.

About Sirevåg

Sirevåg harbour is a hidden gem along the Jæren coast, known for its dramatic nature and rich cultural history. Surrounded by sand dunes, the open sea, and scenic landscapes, it’s a perfect spot for nature lovers. Enjoy idyllic beaches, hiking trails through heathlands and cliffs, and activities like fishing and water sports. History enthusiasts can also explore World War II sites in the area.

Jæren, the broader region, is famous for its vast beaches, rolling heathlands, and rugged coastline. It offers endless opportunities for outdoor adventures, relaxation, and cultural exploration, with historical sites scattered throughout.

Besides the beauty of Sirevåg and Jæren, you can visit Egersund, a picturesque wooden town, or take a trip to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). Stavanger, a lively city blending urban charm with stunning nature, is just a short drive away. Sirevåg and Jæren provide a perfect blend of nature, history, and adventure – a place where unforgettable memories are made!

Coastal Path Jærstrendene: Sirevåg – Ogna – Brusand – Kvassheim Lighthouse

Take a walk along the scenic coastal trails of Jæren. The beautiful, long stretches of beach at Ogna and Brusand are perfect for a relaxing day by the sea, whether you’re enjoying a refreshing swim, kitesurfing, or simply taking in the breathtaking views of the coastline.

Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock)

Just a 1.5-hour drive from the cabin, Preikestolen is one of Norway's most iconic landmarks. This stunning cliff rises 604 meters above the Lysefjord, offering breathtaking panoramic views. The hike to the top takes about 2-3 hours each way, making it a rewarding adventure for outdoor enthusiasts.

Vedafjell in Sirevåg – A Site of War History

Vedafjell in Sirevåg is not only a scenic viewpoint but also a place rich in World War II history. During the war, the German forces used this strategic hill as a lookout point and installed fortifications to monitor the coastline. Visitors can still see remnants of bunkers and other wartime structures, offering a glimpse into the area's role during the occupation. The combination of historical significance and natural beauty makes Vedafjell a fascinating destination for hikers and history enthusiasts alike.


Walk to Eigerøy Lighthouse

Just a 30-minute drive from the cabin, the walk to Eigerøy Lighthouse takes 30-45 minutes from the parking area. The trail winds through rugged coastal terrain with stunning views of the North Sea. Built in 1854, the historic cast-iron lighthouse sits on a small island, offering a peaceful spot for picnics and photography.

Hike from Hellvik Station to Egersund Station

Experience a scenic hike along the old railway track between Hellvik and Egersund stations. This 8-kilometer trail follows the historic Jærbanen railway route, now repurposed into a charming walking path. The trail offers a mix of coastal views, tranquil forests, and glimpses of fjords, showcasing the stunning natural beauty of the region.

Once you’ve reached Egersund, you can easily take the train back to Hellvik, making this a convenient and enjoyable day trip.

Local tips

Ogna Scene is a cultural venue located in Ogna, a small village along the Jæren coast in Norway. It is known for hosting a variety of cultural events, such as concerts, theater performances, and festivals.

Hå gamle prestegard is an art and culture centre housed in traditional, listed buildings, which provides an exciting area for contemporary artists – visual arts, installations, sculpture – as well as handicrafts and cultural history exhibitions.

Fiskerfruen or "The Fisherman's Wife, in Sirevåg is a well-known local restaurant with  focus on seafood, particularly fresh fish caught from the nearby waters.

We, your hosts, are Vidar and Heléne.

It is with great joy that we welcome our guests to our home in Sirevåg – a place where the sea meets the mountains. Here, we’ve found our anchor for our Norwegian family, and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. We divide our time between Sweden, Norway, and Madeira, where we also run a rental business.

We want our guests to feel at home with us, relax, enjoy the fresh sea air, and explore the local attractions. Together, let’s take care of our cherished home, its surroundings, and contribute to the wonderful community in the area!

Here, you’ll find important information to ensure your visit is smooth and pleasant. Detailed general information and house rules are available in Norwegian, English, and German under each flag below. A binder with comprehensive information is also provided in the cabin. Thank you for helping us maintain the cabin as a welcoming home for all our guests! If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We hope your stay will be relaxing, enjoyable, and filled with wonderful experiences.

The cabin features a smart lock, allowing you to come and go as you please without needing to manage a physical key. Check-in is available after 16:00, and check-out is before 11:00. Please follow the checklist for departure.

Important: Due to open spaces and steep descents, the cabin may not be suitable for small children.

The cabin is equipped with Wi-Fi and a TV for your convenience.

The cabin offers a fully equipped kitchen with dish soap and dishwasher tablets, beds prepared with fresh linens, and towels provided. Maps for local tours are available for loan in the hall. On the terrace, you'll find sunbeds, tables, and chairs to enjoy the view and fresh sea breeze. Slippers are provided for indoor use, and the panoramic windows offer stunning views. Charging for electric vehicles is available for a fee - contact us for details.

We kindly ask you to respect the cabin rules for a peaceful stay, including no smoking, pets, or parties, and quiet hours from 23:00 to 08:00. Please handle the furniture and inventory with care, and clean muddy shoes outside. Secure outdoor furniture after use, and dispose of trash in the designated area. Remember to close windows and lock doors when leaving. We appreciate your cooperation in treating our cabin with care and respect.
